Situation

Our client was considering buying a smaller auto glazing competitor which had recently come onto the market.

We were asked to assist the Finance Director in evaluating the possible transaction.

Task

Our role in this assignment was to:

• To evaluate the potential price of the opportunity
• To evaluate possible synergies with the existing operations

Based on our existing knowledge of the client's business we:

• Prepared a possible valuation range
• Worked with the Director as the events unfolded to keep on top of things
• Evaluated synergies

Outcome

• The opportunity returned an incremental GB £ 1m in profit for an outlay which was purely our client's time and our small fees.
